How to Change Your Life in 1 Year

To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly. - Henri Bergson

One year ago I decided I was going to make significant changes to my content strategy and how I was going to approach building Rise Productive. It was a slow and steady change many may not have noticed at first but when you look now it’s pretty clear.

The YouTube channel I have was once filled with vlogs and podcast clips but now it is pretty much productivity app content. The reason I made this change was that I had a clear goal and I knew it was going to be worth it. The goal may seem obscure to others but to me it was clear. If I made enough quality organic content on something I’m passionate about then I would be successful.

As someone who used to run 70+ miles a week at my peak as a cross country/track athlete in college, I know what it’s like to do a lot of work consistently for small gains in the short term. Those short-term gains always compounded into big improvements not only within one season but over many years as well.

Maybe it wouldn’t show in every race, but on a daily basis, I would improve my level to train at a quicker pace and feel more recovered. The reason I’d put my feet to the pavement was that I knew I could run a little faster day after day.

To put it into an analytics analogy let's say you get 100 views a day on your YouTube channel. That’s about 3000 views a month and seems pretty small but in 1 year this can drastically change. What if you took that view count and increased it by 2 views every day for 365 days?

In one month you’re already at 160 views a day and 4,800 views a month. In 6 months you’re at 460 views a day and 14,000 views a month.

In one year… you’ve leaped all the way to 830 views a day and nearly 25,000 views a month. Let me tell you. From first-hand experience, this is entirely possible if you play your cards right. For me that content strategy is organic. I make videos people search for so that my “view floor” goes up every day via YouTube Search.

In one year if you do the kind of content strategy I did, you can have a YouTube channel that makes passive income through sponsorships, YouTube ad revenue, affiliate links, and more. All it takes is doing the important thing each and every day in order to move the needle forward.

Small growth in personal or professional endeavors every day adds up. Doing the work leads to results and only doing it half the time leads to less than half of the results most of the time. Just look at any sort of compound interest calculator and tell me that’s not the case.

I hope this newsletter inspires you to take action and move closer to what you want in life. My experience with it has been life-changing and worth every day of effort.

Have an awesome week!
